Professionalism I Haven’t Seen In a While – China Sea, Frederick MD
Boy have I heard, “oops, we forgot, and don’t have proper plates…,” number of times before, and I even had one random fried chicken place bail on the shoot because no one notified them that nice plates are WELL above my corpo pay grade, hahaha. China Sea crew, on the other hand, ran next door…

Bar J Chili Parlor, Occoquan Historic District, VA
Bar J Chili Parlor was a pleasant end to one of my past BUSY days and I gotta give them credit for fusing Tex-Mex and some southern bbq ideas together as well as things like the chili spaghetti they call mac. The place itself was cozy and spacious – perfect for a happy hour with…

Taste of Hong Kong, Chantilly VA
Taste of Hong Kong was one of the few proper Chinese places I’ve shot and I love seeing these huge restaurants instead of Americanized takeouts with completely different taste and literally the same old 5 dishes they’d want to present via my work. Everything here tasted really good too!

Wild Fire Pit Beef, Joppatowne MD
This place was a food truck that was an absolute reschedule hell with total of 4 times to eventually get 4 little shmeaty buns plinked off. This was the record holder for putting things off like nothing else.

Kogiya Korean BBQ, Annandale VA – Random Awesome Find
Kogiya was a lunch with a friend after doing some non-culinary picture work, but why not shoot some footage for the blog while I have my gear with me, right? This was a nice spot and a better quality than the all-you-can-eat spots that on average use worse grades of meat to compensate for volume.

Lincoln’s Bar-B-Que, Silver Spring MD
Lincoln’s Bar-B-Que is a no-frills barbecue restaurant in the heart of downtown silver spring, MD, that serves all your favorite meats cooked to perfection and some other interesting bites like their Fritos-based nachos served right out of a Fritos bag (a real hook up)! This was a fantastic shoot, but the place got booted from…

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Vienna VA
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is a nice, traditional barbecue chain where all the fresh meats are served with hearty sides on aluminum trays and paper that will help soak up part of the delicious mess. Nice smaller chain spot which usually means one of my most important factors – everything is efficient and streamlined, just the…

Atrium Korean Tofu and BBQ – Tysons Corner, VA – Spaceous and Tasty!
This was a very nice little new place that doubles up as a normal cafe – sandwiches, coffee, etc, in a huge office building across the beltway and away from the mall’s riff raff. Owners naturally forgot about the shoot, but like proper business folk quickly whipped up the 10 dishes I needed and sent…

Smoke BBQ, Bethesda MD
Amazing barbecue spot in the heart of Bethesda. If you’re in the mood for a barbie, as Australians would call it, and some beer, then this place is the spot! Highly recommended. Another easy and straight-forward gig thanks to business savvy owners and staff to facilitated everything perfectly.
