As usual, my email about possibly bumping this gig went into the abyss and their friendly staff hadn’t a clue about the shoot while the manager stepped out for an errand. Very well, nothing a drink won’t fix while I wait 5-10 minutes, and I’ve had far worse waits before. 15-20 later though, manager went ahead and delegated the order to be put in so they kitchen could get fixin’ my hungry camera some props while I shot the shit with one of their regulars and staff in the process. Food was worth the wait here, I can say that much, and presented in an unorthodox way for a Tex-Mex leaning more towards Texas side of things than Mexico –

Starting with fajitas – small, square cast-irons as opposed to the usual elliptical ones with the handle that comes straight from the stove. Little molcas for tortillas are a nice and a cute touch. Usual sides of pico, guac, and sour cream are on parchment paper akin to a Texan barbecue. Rice and beans are in that classic long dish though. All of this tastes pretty damn good too!
Quesadillas? They have ’em –

Burritos? Present, and portioned very well and neatly –

Chips, sides, and so on? Of course!

The place itself is modern and neat and goes with the presentation of the food well too.

And last but not least, tacos and even burgers to flex the Tex side of the Mex are all available.

As with most corpo gigs lately, I had to finesse this one too to make everything fall into requirements, but it wasn’t too difficult and everyone present pretty much got a hearty free meal from this shoot. Never ask for it, but never say no is my motto, especially when it’s all good.
