Supano’s Restaurant, Baltimore MD – story

Supano’s was one of my early gigs and I dragged a friend along to be my “assistant” and observe this wonderless world of corpo food shooting, and to that effect this gig did not disappoint! It was scheduled during the dead hours of the afternoon, but that didn’t stop the kitchen from being horribly sluggish with mere half dozen of plates. They key picture was a group set of everything, and after an hour in both my friend and I started hearing the owner bumbling about needing to go and how he’d grab a few plates with him on his errands and such and we giggled, myself especially, because I knew how that little plan will go down. Owner waddled over to the table to grab the best of the plates until I stopped him and told him that nothing leaves this over-appointment-time table until I see the last plate and get my family portrait. We grumbled back and into the kitchen to get the last plate out so all of us could be on our way, but thus no loot was had for such a slow shoot from a pretty swanky place that totally could have spared some sample plates after wasting quite a bit of my time.
