Capo Deli was a pleasant surprise to shoot considering that delis are fairly rare in the DMV, let alone those that properly mirror those of NY, and Capo seems to nail the idea! A quote from them directly,
“Reminiscent of the old school, traditional Italian deli’s found in NY, Philly, and Boston… No gimmicks, no fancy names or unheard of ingredients, just traditional classics found in your hometown deli. We do not compromise quality and we do not take short cuts.”
That sounds good if it’s true, so does their mission statement hold up? Using Boar’s Head shmeats alone isn’t enough to convince me in the DMV, but once you see the hero itself it should speak for itself, so here are some of their heros-

And let me tell you, these taste just as good as they look! Color me very impressed for DC area. Pricing is steep even for NY, but portions are pretty generous at the same time and here is the full menu-

Besides the sammies, they also do other Italian fare as well as to-go dranks and that’s a big plus in my book!

And at least Tyson’s location has a nice bar to sit at instead of being like a typical NY bodega that is takeout only.

Overall I definitely recommend checking this place out instead of some corpo excuse for a sandwich shop like Subway!
