El Gran Chaparral is not only a superb authentic Mexican restaurant right under the inner loop of 495, but also a spacious pool hall. They definitely have some of the better eats and drinks you can get while playing pool in all of the DC area. I highly recommend checking Gran Chaparral out! If you’ve never had molcajate, this is definitely the place to try it out! And heck, first time seeing a proper Mexican molca was pretty cool! Very, very similar idea to various Korean clay and stone pots that keep the food nice and hot well into service.
