CM Chicken, for short, I’ve shot a couple of times and this particular one was when they had briefly taken over the The Heights Tap Room (that bounced around being American Tap Room as well) setup smack in the middle of Columbia Heights, DC. Funny enough, I’ve shot Choong Man Chicken before at their old H Street NE location for an absolute failure of one corpo’s attempt to offer food delivery, so I wasn’t a complete stranger to this snow onion and sauce covered Korean fried chicken marvel. Staff played it smart here and minimized their damage since they’ve had MORE than enough imagery from back home and here I learned that they were actually a new and very prominent chain in South Korea trying to expand into the states. Apparently the owner of the entire chain was there as well to oversea one of their bigger spots in our miserable excuse for a capital town of a nation, and my response to if I wanted to take a picture of him was my usual, “for $50, haha.” Whether it was the prez of the company or not, I was happy to have a quick and painless gig and be on my merry Friday traffic kind of way with some chicken in my mouth.
