Seems like the CP location of the New York’s Chinese Tea giant Ten Ren’s Teas has shut down since my visit in 2019, and that was the spot that offered actual food on top of various bubble teas and powdered milk teas-
The Rockville location, however, I’ve known for a very, very long time and the powder milk honeydew flavor was my ancient tried-and-true go-to for many years when it was still a brand new, novel concept without any other shops around.
Rockville store had always had the real reason to go there too – all of the assorted Chinese teas, tea sets, and other related accessories-
The back room here is just straight out of the movies too!
These days I find it a bit ironic that it took me years to realize that all of the good Asian food and drink spots in DMV area originated in NY, and the fact of the matter clearly shows when you visit majority of those like Kumo and Pelicana. Nothing in the DC area can hold a candle to Flushing, Queens, NY in terms of Asian food and likely the only worthy contenders will be the ones who branch out south from there.
