Fuji Japan Food Truck, Farragut North DC
Fuji Japan truck was a fun little shoot, on 18th and L Streets, with all the funsies of shooting a food truck like lack of work space, blaring sun, and finding parking a million miles away because you just can’t have nice parking in DC. The truck and staff were excellent, the food looked great,…

Toryumon Japanese House, Washington DC
Toryumon is a nice little swanky hidden gem around DC’s white house area, and you’re in for a treat if you manage to find it! This shoot went smooth as ramen you slurp up, but usual DC parking was, well, usual DC parking.

Akira Ramen, Baltimore MD
Got to shoot our local ramen chain, Akira Ramen, at their Baltimore location and this shoot went down as smooth as their ramens!

Ramen Factory 42, Falls Church VA – How Does a Ramen Shop Even Fail?
Sadly Ramen Factory 42 didn’t last and got taken over a Latin restaurant, but ironically I discovered this place on my own well before actually getting to cover it. This was a well-decorated, overall great spot that was a door down from one of the best sushi spots in the entire area – Takumi. How…

Ginger, National Harbor MD
Ginger was part of a series of shoots inside of our own MGM casino and resort, so this was done back to back with some of their other offerings and was very well orchestrated! Reminded me of how well goober corpo operated during their Philly opening compared to years hence after.

Sarku Japan, Springfield VA
Sarku Japan is your standard Japanese-style chain that offers predominantly grilled eats and some sushi rolls. Definitely not bad for the price, but even in the area there are far, far better offerings in the same category. Quick and easy gig, and at least this place bothered with plates instead of styrofoam takeout containers most…

Sakura Teriyaki Corner, Takoma Park MD
Another old take on Japanese takeout where everything is mediocre, but at least quick and easy. Perfect spot to lure in an unsuspecting American and either wow their lack of tastebuds or get them to think Japanese cuisine is just like Panda Xpress.
