Continuing a mini-series of places I’ve shot on one of my past birthdays, and I lucked out with everything being pretty close to one another too!
Cafe Troia was right down the block from C&R Pub, and it was a nice and quaint Italian spot offering some of the more authentic dishes than usual –
It’s always sad to see unique places shut down and get replaced by the Nth Latin spot or some fried carryout that’s in total abundance like Brooklyn delis staring at each other from each corner of an intersection, but se la vie as they say in this business. Marketing can help, but it’s ultimately up to the restaurant to recognize the neighborhood they are in and tread accordingly even with something new.
