Once upon a time I got to shoot one of my old, global faves that I discovered well before even picking up a camera, and the one you’ve all seen in just about any major city or area – Vie De France. The location I got to cover was not my original find, but it was a spectacular bakery like most of this chain tends to be!
We had a slew of items to cover and shooting out in the lobby was not an option with ‘rona still being fairly fresh and in the air, so we had to get reaaaalllly creative amidst the busy kitchen – and we managed thanks to sheets of wrapping paper and a large enough of a trolley table you’d find in almost any bakery to help move dat bread around. And booooy did these guys have good, fresh bread!
The main stars of the show were the sandwiches despite desserts being plentiful and then some since those would be the likely victims of grubby delivery drivers, and I did not mind one bit much preferring savory to sweet.
Thing started off with some of the classic and simple subs including a club and a roast beef ones-

Then came the next slew of my favorites – panini, croisant, and fancier bread sammiches:

All of which come standard with a bag of Vickie’s chips or crips for anyone in UK.
Then some of the deserts that would travel well-

And last not not least, one of the salads as well as a lunch combo-

In all this was a very smooth shoot, at a wonderful and busy location of Vie de France in Potomac that chose to do a sizeable photo shoot during their busy hour that impressed me even more. I had to make way for probably the entirety of the kitchen staff at one point or another and it was a pleasure watching a well-oiled bread machine at work! Definitely recommend checking one of the Vie locations if you somehow never managed or bothered to before, because their pea soup alone brings that warm and cozy feeling of Europe.
