Whenever I write about shoots that took place a while back, I check up on the oogle with a G to see their current state of affairs, possible closures, and so on, so seeing that G T’s Handimart has changed hands to a slew of not-so-stellar recent reviews saddens me since this place was absolutely amazing back in 2020-1. When I was shooting it – it was brimming full with staff, had a huge hot bar of all sorts of fried goodies, and all of those tastes great! The location of this gas station is right under the border of MD and PA, almost at the summit of Blue Ridge mountain with a fantastic, twisty drive up to it!
We got creative with a black cloth background and pretty much went through their entire menu of awesome country style food from breakfast to dinner, as well as plenty of the other items like chips, sodas, milk, and butter – as mini-mart shoots typically go.
I seriously hope that new management picks up the slack and brings this place back around to its proper glory because there just aren’t many like it, and I love these small, local spots! A great example would be The Village Store & Diner in Keymar, MD.
