Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Frederick MD – closed
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s was actually a fun Irish Pub at the southern tip of Frederick, MD, that I got to shoot on one January day and have been back there a couple of times afterwards for a pint when the weather and traffic were absolutely abysmal after some other shoots I have done in the…
Wall of Brew and Vegan Food – Frederick Social, MD
Frederick Social is definitely designed for the social part of its name – very roomy interior with various types of tables and seats to accommodate different crowds and set everyone nice and cozy to enjoy the giant wall of beer taps and their tapas style plates. Predominantly vegetarian and vegan menu, or at least from…
Irish-Latin Fusion – Sully’s Pour House, Herndon VA
Sully’s Pour House was definitely a memorable shoot because this was the first time I’ve seen Irish and Latin cuisine intertwine properly without taking too many American detours typical for a bar menu. And one of the very few times I was presented some Xangos as a dessert over typical churros or tres leches.
Trademark Drink and Eat, Old Town Alexandria VA
Trademark I got to shoot quite soon after they were opening and I am very glad to see them doing well – without any doubts! Chic hotel pub for the Westin Old Town Alexandria ran absolutely right! Roomy interior, nice decor, and dishes match the pictures exactly! I would definitely recommend this spot for drinks…
Waterman’s Taven, Edgewater MD
This was a straight forwards shoot of some nice pub grub a bit south of Annapolis. Not all gigs end up memorable, but that’s absolutely fine as long as there aren’t any snags involved.
White Horse Tavern, Harper’s Ferry WV
This one was pretty memorable because it was after a gig in Baltimore on the same day as my 80+ year old grandmother was to pass her citizenship test. This place absolutely did not disappoint even though it was quite the hike to get here for me. White Horse Tavern is your proper, roomy, modern…
B Live, Arlington VA – Burgers, Tunes, and Brews
B Live was an awesome shoot that started with your typical 3pm rush hour moans and groans and the neverending DMV constructions that seems to results in worse roads than before. Once that struggle was over, came my favorite part – finding parking in Arlington that became an abysmal pain after about 2020 with absolute…
Nellie’s Sports Bar, Washington DC
Got to eventually shoot Nellie’s that right down the street from 9:30 Club, but the food they prepped was sadly nothing special and I would’ve loved to see their better offerings, but alas. Otherwise it’s an awesome double-decker bar! My interior pot shot actually racked up upper single digit millions of views on Maps!
O’Faolain’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, Sterling VA
I discovered O’Faolain’s while killing time before Agni Indian opened up for our scheduled shoot, and later on got to shoot this amazing and authentic Irish pub. Decor was proper, staff was absolutely Irish, and the dishes were second to none here. I’ve shot them twice over the years and stopped by several other times…
Hops and Shine, Alexandria VA
Hops ‘n’ Shine was a smooth gig at a little bar in Alexandria with some really great looking and tasting sandwiches!
Heavy Seas Alehouse, Arlington VA
Got to shoot Seven Seas brewery alehouse at one point and was not disappointed. Pub food and fresh local beer? Yes please, especially on a weekend!
Union Street Public House, Alexandria VA
Union Street Pub was a solid shoot in a very spacious and classic pub right across from Potomac River in Alexandria downtown. Solid looking dishes, especially the Cornish Hen that I honestly never really seen anywhere before. And the shrimp and crawfish roll? Yes please!
Caddies on Cordell, Bethesda MD
Caddies on Cordell is a golf-themed sports bar in Bethesda, MD. If you’re in the mood for beer pong, arcade golf, beer pong, or re-watching Caddy Shack while you bro down this is a good bet, but in terms of grub this is as average as your Bud Light taste buds will expect. I’ve shot…
Slash Run, Washington DC
Slash Run is a real treasure of a hair-metal styled whiskey bar and restaurant in Northwest, DC. Not only do they serve Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, but their food is absolutely amazing! Creative burgers on pretzel buns and garlic rosemary seasoned fries go well with just about every drink they can serve. And don’t forget…
